I don't know anything about your pool size, so I'm not going to hazard a guess to your question. A pool cover, particularly one that blocks the sunlight, should reduce the frequency that you need to add chlorine, rather than the amount the pool needs when you do treat it. I generally shock my 31,000 litre pool with about 3 cups and then don't touch it for a few weeks.

Hi,
I like your site!! I have been tracking my consumption for 6 months since installing my solar wh.Saving at least 10kwh per day (payback around 3 years!!) consumption now 18-19kwh per day (will now use your spreadsheet). I'm putting my pool cover on today (in CT)and wondering how much chlorine to add - any suggestions? Will set pump to 1 hr/day to see how that goes.
regards
